Carbocisteine capsules can be prescribed for anyone who can swallow capsules.

Carbocisteine liquid is non-formulary

Prescribe by brand Acepiro as per local TLS arrangements

Assess response to treatment after 4 weeks and continue therapy at
maintenance dose if a satisfactory response has been achieved.

Stop therapy at 6 weeks if no benefit.
